Kim Kardashian engagement ring

In a surprise announcement it seems that Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are engaged to be married! The 26 year old Humphries proposed to Kim by waiting at her house with a “Will you marry me?” message in rose petals. Not much of an extravagant event, but the ring he carried more than made up for it.

The engagement ring was a 20.5 carat diamond ring, designed by Lorraine Schwartz and worth an estimated $2 MILLION dollars. It would take a strong woman to resist a $2 million dollar ring, and by all account Kardashian is smitten by Kris Humphries who she describes as a genuinely nice guy. After the bad boys, the girls settle down with the nice boys apparently!

Kardashian described her shock at the proposal to People magazine: “I didn’t expect this at all I was in such shock. I never thought it would happen at home, and I never thought now.”

Humphries knows Kim’s taste in both men and jewelry saying that he just knew she “wanted it big”. Ahem.

Kim Kardashian landed back in New York at the start of the week, after a brief trip to Miami. Kim was in town to present a huge engagement ring to the winners of “the Ultimate Engagement Ring – Search for the world’s best couple” competition.

Kim is showing no signs of being engaged as she has quickly gone through 2 different boyfriends in the last couple of months. She dumped Austin Miles, then dumped Gabriel Aubry and is now onto Kris Humphries, a pro basketballer.

She’s a modern woman and is casting aside men with flaws!

Kim Kardashian engagement ring competition

Kim Kardashian was in New York yesterday helping Michael Hill opening a competition to find the “World’s Best Couple”. The competition, entitled “Ultimate Engagement Ring Search For The World’s Best Couple” picks a lucky couple and gives them a huge engagement ring from Michael Hill.

The launch of the competition was held at Brasserie Ruhlmann, and Kim Kardashian modeled the first prize – a lovely 22ct princess cut diamond engagement ring in platinum.

Kim tweeted about the event of course, writing: “Heading to NYC launch of @michaelhill search for worlds best couple-can’t wait to see that AMAZING 22CT diamond ring!”. Michael Hill told the press why he started the competition: “We want to inspire blokes to be more romantic. It’s all about rekindling the spirit of love.”
