Adrienne Bailon’s solo track “This Hot” appeared online at the end of May 2009, as the former 3LW and Cheetah Girls member was preparing material for a solo project. Contemporary music coverage reported that The-Dream was associated with the writing and Bryan-Michael Cox with the production.
At that point Bailon was recording a debut solo album for Island Def Jam. “This Hot” circulated as new music, but the reports did not establish it as a commercially released lead single. Later summaries of her 2009 work likewise place the track among recordings from that attempted solo-album period.
