On this week’s episode of Kim and Kourtney take New York we get to see a behind the scenes look at Kim Kardashian in the studio struggling to sing! It seems Kardashian had issues building up the courage to get the song recorded and at one stage had a bit of a tantrum.

Eventually she managed to overcome her fears and finished recording the song, cheered on by Ciara and encouraged by producer “The Dream”.

In other events in the episode, Scott Disick declared himself to be somewhat of a fashion trendsetter and bought a $3500 walking stick. Much to the horror of the girls who thought it was a fashion mistake. Scott finds some really practical uses for the stick including pointing at menus and directing traffic. Eventually Kourtney hides the stick, leading to some funny moments.

Kim Kardashian has uploaded some stills from her upcoming debut music video, “Turn it Up” on her blog! The pics show Kardashian in a revealing revealing swimsuit (or is it lingerie?) with bright red lipstick, super hot.

Kim says she took inspiration from Bo Derek’s stylish braids in the 70s. In all of the photos Kim is wearing racy red lipstick, but having different combinations of racy clothes.

Kim said of the Bo Derek braids look: “Hype Williams came up with this Bo Derek braids look for the music video and I loved it! It took about four hours to do, and believe it or not I fell asleep! I wish I could have worn it longer.”
Kardashian said they tried many looks for the video: “We tried out a number of different looks in the video, and I’ll be sharing the other looks with you guys here on my blog, I’m excited (and a little nervous) for you all to hear the song and watch the video. I really hope you all like it!”

Kim Kardashian has spoken more about her upcoming debut single and is apparently very excited about it! Kardashian told US Magazine: “I wanted to do something that I had never done before, something that was a little bit out of my comfort zone, So, I tried it and it was fun.”

The debut song is called “Turn it Up” and was produced by hip hop producer The-Dream who has worked with heavy hitters like Rihanna. Kim describes the song as “a pop dance song,” and says she has a “cute little voice”. Kim isn’t super keen to start a singing career, but says the possibility for more singles is there: “You never know what would happen but as of right now I’m not thinking about that, It’s just a fun song.”

Kim Kardashian has revealed that her debut single, “Turn it up” will be launched soon, as little as 3 weeks! Kim made the revelation while on the red carpet at the 2011 Grammys, telling an MTV reporter about the upcoming release.

Kim had Kanye West and hip hop producer “The Dream” helping her create the song, which she shared in a sneak preview with fans a few weeks ago at a night club. The video was shot with the help of experienced video producer Hype Williams.

Kim told MTV: “[It's coming out] in about three weeks, I’m so excited.” and the single will be out “in a couple of weeks,”, but the video will be previewed on the reality TV show Kourtney & Kim Take New York.

Kardashian admitted that recording the song was very difficult but she had some friends cheering her on. She commented: “You know it was something that I was really uncomfortable and nervous about, and [The-Dream] really just wanted me to step outside of my box and try something I’ve never done before, So I was really honest. I’m like, ‘You’re not gonna get Beyoncé here, you’re not gonna get Celine Dion,’ and he really pulled something out of me … I was just so nervous.”

Kim has also confirmed that this is not the start of a musical career but a one off to raise money for cancer research.

It’s a big start to the year for Kim Kardashian as she shared her new single with the party goers at the Tao nightclub to bring in 2011.

Immediately after doing the new years eve countdown, she announced the song and even sang along. According to a source at the party, “Fans screamed and snapped photos of Kim as she partied to her new song,”

There were also video cameras present to shoot scenes at the club, which will be used in the video clip. Kanye West will also make an appearance in the video clip apparently.
